Jenny Bird and Michael Mandrell

Performing at venues worldwide, Jenny Bird and Michael Mandrell find a common musical thread through the soul of humanity. With their spiritually uplifting lyrics and scintillating acoustic guitar work, they create a beautiful melange of folk, Celtic and jazz with their world class performance and warm stage presence. Jenny has been called one of the most passionate performers in the new folk genre. Her acoustic guitar rings with creative genius, her songs and stories captivating. Michael is known for his expansive instrumental style and world fusion modalities. With delicate technique in finger style improvisation, he blends Celtic, Jazz and New Age, demonstrating just what a 6 and 12 string guitar can do in the hands of a real master. Together they find a common groove, a sacred space, and a place for all hearts to be free.

Music for the Monsoon

SHOWTIMES

Sat, June 14, 4 PM -6 PM
Fairy Jazz Orchestra and The Milking Parlor

Sun, June 15, 4 PM -6 PM
Fairy Jazz Orchestra and The Neighbors

Music for the Monsoon features the Fairy Jazz Orchestra (members of Anam Cara and Noble Rider) as host band for a seasonal celebration of the rain in dry times. Joining FJO will be two local musical acts known for theatricality, originality, and instrumental power: The Milking Parlor and The Neighbors. The Saturday concert, 4-6 pm, pairs the FJO with The Milking Parlor. For the Sunday concert, 4-6 pm, The Neighbors are the guest band. The concerts bring elements of drama to the presentation of the music—with poetry readings, set design, and, for the June shows, original musical theatre—as a nod to the wonderful setting of the Wildflower and the desire to offer a different kind of live music experience.
