Fairy Jazz Productions, in conjunction with the Wildflower Playhouse, continues its musical celebration of the seasons with

Music for the Monsoon

Two Days, Two Concerts
Saturday, June 14, and Sunday, June 15

Musicians from Fairy Jazz Productions (members of Anam Cara and Noble Rider) and guest artists bring music to stir the waters, move the spirits, and free the mind. For these concerts, we are featuring musicians who stretch the boundaries of current American music with ventures into world music and jazz, and especially in original music. We also bring elements of drama to the presentation of the music—with poetry readings, set design, and, for the June shows, original musical theatre—as a nod to the wonderful setting of the Wildflower and the desire to offer a different kind of live music experience.

The guest bands make a unique contribution to this vision—Milking Parlor with its theatrical flare, and the Neighbors with their instrumental power and Brent Berry’s stirring vocals and original songs, including our theme song: “Monsoon.”

SHOWTIMES

Saturday, June 14, 4pm - 6pm. Fairy Jazz Orchestra and The Milking Parlor
The Fairy Jazz crew offers songs for summer and music to invoke the monsoon moisture. The Milking Parlor brings original musical theatre in compact form (individual songs as well as more extended dramas)

Sunday, June 15, 4pm - 6pm. Fairy Jazz Orchestra and The Neighbors
The FJO offers another set of songs from the repertoire of Anam Cara and Noble Rider. The Neighbors play a lively set of originals that draw from a deep well of sources to create what they call Afrocoastal Americanagrass.

Each show ends with a finale that brings the bands together.
