The WildFlower Playhouse exists to promote community. A space for artists to gather. For wild spirits to explore, learn and grow in the arts.
Our Theater
The WildFlower Playhouse is an 80 seat proscenium stage theater. Complete with studio sound and advanced lighting system. Coming soon is our movie screen and professional projection system.

The WildFlower Playhouse Gallery holds up to 75ft of artist displays featuring seasonal artist collections from Taos and abroad.
Our Founder
Founded in 2019. Jim Avery saw a need for a performance arts venue that would serve the Taos Community. Jim's vision was to build a beautiful space where community could gather and art would be celebrated. Before, during and in the aftermath of a worldwide pandemic, Jim put his heart and soul into creating space for the performing arts. The WildFlower Playhouse serves as an intimate setting for all who seek to stand under her lights.

What the Constitution Means to Me is a witty, heartfelt, and deeply personal play in which playwright, Heidi Schreck, revisits the teenage speeches she once gave about the U.S. Constitution to earn college tuition. Blending memoir, history, humor, and audience engagement, the play explores how the Constitution has shaped the lives of generations of women while asking whether this foundational document continues to serve all Americans equally.

A launch to celebrate Morphic Trespass, a creative fusion between John Biscello (spoken word) and Ben Wright (bass). Biscello and Wright will perform tracks from the album, and vinyl albums will be available for sale.
Ben Wright and John Biscello performed their eclectic-bop-and-groove hybrid of spoken word and bass together for many years, appearing at various venues and gigs. About twelve years ago, they recorded an album’s worth of material, which never saw the listening light of day. Enter Christopher Shoust, and Lost Telegram Press (an indie press based out of Ontario, Canada) who wanted to branch out and release the press’s first vinyl album. Lost Telegram became the catalyst and midwife in helping to birth Morphic Trespass into the world.
The album features sixteen tracks, ranging in style and tone from apocalyptic bop to vision-grooved vaudeville to street-lyrical to psycho-erotic swing. It is spiritual and psychic kin to the likes of Dylan Thomas, Patti Smith, Lord Buckley, Jack Kerouac, Lenny Bruce, and others. The album also features the grittily poetic and urban-slice-of-life street photography of Brooklyn-based Anthony Distefano.

The Story of Me began as a six-week autobiographical theater workshop led by Director Karen Paull. Each performer was invited to explore three significant moments that shaped their life and, through writing, improvisation, acting, movement, voice, and clowning, transform those experiences into an original theatrical performance.
What emerged is an evening of courageous, surprising, and deeply human theater.
Expect laughter, heartbreak, absurdity, tenderness, and moments of unexpected revelation as these performers step onto the stage with something more powerful than fiction—their own lived experience.
They lived it. They wrote it. Now they're daring to perform it.
Come for their stories. You may leave thinking about your own.

What is a stray heart? It is someone who has not laughed that day, danced a bit— if only in their eyes; or given to someone or something, via a soft sound, a kind movement! A sweet look!
In some ways, we are all such new golden birds in this world, our wings have yet unfurled enough to caress the cheek of the Sun. We need each other for that! And the great gift— and great value & utility in art.

A Christmas Story is a heartwarming holiday comedy that follows young Ralphie Parker on his determined quest for the perfect Christmas gift: an official Red Ryder BB gun. Along the way, Ralphie navigates schoolyard bullies, eccentric family traditions, embarrassing mishaps, and well-meaning adults who repeatedly warn him, "You'll shoot your eye out!" Filled with humor, nostalgia, and holiday spirit, the play celebrates the magic and mayhem of childhood at Christmastime. Taos Onstage is performing a radio play version of A Christmas Story with a live foley, singing and holiday fun for all!

"Dreaming Into Reality" is a collection of work spanning from abstract and dream worlds into landscape and representational paintings, the 3-D world. As an artist, I find that I need to express myself in many ways, especially emotionally and spiritually. Not limiting myself to one genre has enabled me to grow my consciousness. I've been able to explore unlimited possibilities within myself and then create them. When I started documenting my dreams, it seemed natural to paint them. They have landscapes too, although maybe not as conventional as the "real" world. My worlds collided when I discovered this outlet along with pure abstract painting. Since these worlds came together for me, it was perfect to create a sampling of this variety of work. Where space and earth collide, that's where you will find my paintings.
Song-carrier and multi-instrumentalist Leonardo Armijo (Wild Faith) brings 2 evenings of heart-opening, earth-rooted live music to WildFlower Playhouse Blending world folk, blues, and rich acoustic soundscapes, "Rewoven" is an intentional musical gathering centered on connection, celebration, presence, and community.
