Our Mission
The WildFlower Playhouse exists to promote community. A space for artists to gather. For wild spirits to explore, learn and grow in the arts.
Our Theater
The WildFlower Playhouse is an 80 seat proscenium stage theater. Complete with studio sound and advanced lighting system. Coming soon is our movie screen and professional projection system.
Our Gallery
The WildFlower Playhouse Gallery holds up to 75ft of artist displays featuring seasonal artist collections from Taos and abroad.
Our Founder
Founded in 2019. Jim Avery saw a need for a performance arts venue that would serve the Taos Community. Jim's vision was to build a beautiful space where community could gather and art would be celebrated. Before, during and in the aftermath of a worldwide pandemic, Jim put his heart and soul into creating space for the performing arts. The WildFlower Playhouse serves as an intimate setting for all who seek to stand under her lights.

The Gratitude Tour is a collection of paintings and drawings ranging from a few earlier pieces never before shown, to very recent work. These include acrylic on canvas or linen, gouache on papel amatl (Mexican bark paper), conte crayon, including other varied application surfaces and mixed media.
Against political resistance and industry skepticism, Luis Valdez pushes Chicano storytelling from the fields to the film screen with Zoot Suit and La Bamba, crafting iconic works that challenge, celebrate, and expand America’s story.
SYNOPSIS
An auteur emerges from America’s underclass: from migrant farmworker to revolutionary artist, Luis Valdez changed American culture. In the 1960s, his El Teatro Campesino performed on flatbed trucks and helped mobilize workers to win the first farmworker union contract. His Zoot Suit was the first Chicano play on Broadway. Despite critical rejection that killed the show, he persevered, creating La Bamba—a breakout blockbuster that authentically depicted MexicanAmerican life to the world. Now in its 60th year, El Teatro continues to be a beacon for Latino/a creators. This is the story of an artist who gave voice to the overlooked and opened pathways for generations.

A well-known member of many Taos ensembles takes his turn in the light, offering for the first time a selection of original jazz compositions.
These tunes embody the continual searching of a lost songster for some homeland, some homecoming, some tradition upon which to lay his head.
Finding Jazz to be such a home for all wanderers in this liminal age, Robert Quijano explores its eras through the lens of each tune.
Joining him & his guitar is a debut ensemble of young jazz fellow-travelers: Sarah Farris (Saxophone & Flute), CJ Burnett (Piano), Jed Margolis (Vibraphone), Shaw Hayakawa (Bass), & Miles Anderson (Drums).
Megan Wood opens the evening with a solo set of her rich song tapestries.

Blending memoir, history, humor, and audience engagement, the play explores how the Constitution has shaped the lives of generations of women while asking whether this foundational document continues to serve all Americans equally.

The Story of Me began as a six-week autobiographical theater workshop led by Director Karen Paull. Each performer was invited to explore three significant moments that shaped their life and, through writing, improvisation, acting, movement, voice, and clowning, transform those experiences into an original theatrical performance.
What emerged is an evening of courageous, surprising, and deeply human theater.
Expect laughter, heartbreak, absurdity, tenderness, and moments of unexpected revelation as these performers step onto the stage with something more powerful than fiction—their own lived experience.
They lived it. They wrote it. Now they're daring to perform it.
Come for their stories. You may leave thinking about your own.

What is a stray heart? It is someone who has not laughed that day, danced a bit— if only in their eyes; or given to someone or something, via a soft sound, a kind movement! A sweet look!
In some ways, we are all such new golden birds in this world, our wings have yet unfurled enough to caress the cheek of the Sun. We need each other for that! And the great gift— and great value & utility in art.

A Christmas Story is a heartwarming holiday comedy that follows young Ralphie Parker on his determined quest for the perfect Christmas gift: an official Red Ryder BB gun. Along the way, Ralphie navigates schoolyard bullies, eccentric family traditions, embarrassing mishaps, and well-meaning adults who repeatedly warn him, "You'll shoot your eye out!" Filled with humor, nostalgia, and holiday spirit, the play celebrates the magic and mayhem of childhood at Christmastime. Taos Onstage is performing a radio play version of A Christmas Story with a live foley, singing and holiday fun for all!
