A Confluence of Voices
An Evening of Masterworks with TOI Young Artists, Faculty, and Members of the Taos Chamber Music Group
This first of its kind event will feature all 22 TOI Young Artists as well as members of the Taos Chamber Music Group, performing masterworks by some of the most inspirational composers of all time: Mozart, Bach, Rutter, and many more. The special concert will be led by Maestro Luke Frazier, conductor of the American Pops Orchestra and Symphony of the Americas.

Taos Opera Institute presents RSBE (Remove Shoes Before Entering) by Composer-In-Residence, Michael Ching
TOI is proud to present Michael Ching’s thought-provoking and powerful opera, Remove Shoes Before Entering, on June 4. The piece will be semi-staged and performed by all 22 of TOI’s Young Artists, with Ching on the piano. Michael has served as TOI’s Composer-In-Residence for 8 years and has been commissioned by TOI to create a brand new opera to be premiered during their 20th Anniversary Festival Season in 2028.

The Evolutionary Jump: An Absurdist Bird Opera
The Lost Sunshine Cinema Collective is proud to present The Evolutionary Jump: An Absurdist Bird Opera. It’s an abstract absurd opera that addresses the progression of today’s housing crisis as it merges into a future housing dystopia. The Opera features local artists, singers, and musicians performing all original pieces. The event is meant to entertain and inspire conversation on housing.

The Heartthrob Double Feature: Two Musicals by The Milking Parlor
The Milking Parlor, a four piece acoustic ensemble will be playing, singing, and acting out two musical works recently written and composed by Taos resident Justin “Donkeyman” Phillips.
Through The Fence - A Taos Musical about friendship. A young man and woman become platonic bedmates and explore the fine line between friendship and love.
The Shepherd & The Sparrow - A Taos Opera about love and loss. A magic arrow creates a precarious romance between a pastoral shepherd and a migrating bird in this tragic allegory.
