ARTIST RECEPTION
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 20
3pm - 6pm

"Dreaming Into Reality" is a collection of work spanning from abstract and dream worlds into landscape and representational paintings, the 3-D world. As an artist, I find that I need to express myself in many ways, especially emotionally and spiritually. Not limiting myself to one genre has enabled me to grow my consciousness. I've been able to explore unlimited possibilities within myself and then create them. When I started documenting my dreams, it seemed natural to paint them. They have landscapes too, although maybe not as conventional as the "real" world. My worlds collided when I discovered this outlet along with pure abstract painting. Since these worlds came together for me, it was perfect to create a sampling of this variety of work. Where space and earth collide, that's where you will find my paintings.

ARTIST STATEMENT
"I dream about painting, and then I paint my dreams." Vincent Van Gogh.
My paintings originate from dreams, meditations, and the amazing dreamy landscapes that surround me in New Mexico and my travels. Conscious awareness allows me to relax, play, and enjoy the moments, bringing me into a flow state that I interpret in light, shadow, and color. As an artist, I am grateful to be able to express myself in various ways, and I aspire to share my experiences with the observer.

ARTIST BIO
As a painter, I feel blessed to be living in beautiful Taos, New Mexico. An avid hiker, skier, and outdoors enthusiast, the ambiance of this area stimulates my creativity. Plein Air painting on location is a newer endeavor for me and naturally combines my love of nature and painting. In studio, I draw upon my life experiences, travel, and photos to inspire my representational paintings.

Dreams have long captivated me. Is there a message in there? Remembering snippets of dreams, journaling, and sketching what feels significant, I am able to create intriguing compositions while expressing recollections and seeking a message. It's exciting to express myself in abstract and representational subject matters and capture my emotions in both.

Primarily working in acrylics and oils, I love experimenting with new mediums, so I am exploring pastels as a new challenge. As a life learner, I am constantly seeking out workshops and new ideas. In 2026 I attended a pastel workshop in Cloudcroft at the CAW with Lorenzo Chavez and in August I studied with Kevin MacPherson, an amazing painter and teacher, here in Taos.

In 2025 I was accepted into a juried exhibit in Tubac, Arizona. The title of the show was "DREAMS". My abstract painting "Returning Home" was awarded honorable mention, chosen from 75 pieces included in the exhibition.

My work is on display at the Taos Artist Collective at 106A Paseo Del Norte, Taos NM, and at the Sanctuary of Artist on Kit Carson Road, Taos NM. I am a member of the Taos Watercolor Society, Plein Air
Painters of New Mexico, the Taos Plein Air Painters, Taos Abstract Artist Collective and the Tajmagundi Drawing group.
