The Taos Songwriters’ Guild is an association of artists and performers founded on a shared devotion to the craft of songwriting, and a wish to foster an environment of mutual support between ourselves and within the greater community.

      Our current and ongoing project is called Inside the Song, a concert series highlighting the inner creative process of songcraft. Each showcase will be presented in the “round robin” or “writers in the round” format: one song per artist, introduced with an inside look at the story that gave rise to the song, and at the decisions which guided the piece to its present form.

      This showcase style serves to bring the audience into an intimate view, a “behind-the-scenes” peek at how a song is made, and the diverse strategies, philosophies, tricks of the trade, etc. of a broad selection of local artists, all presented with a sense of humor and a warm, inclusive spirit. We hope to spotlight the song and its craftsfolk as valuable resources, interwoven with the legacy of community storytelling
