Taos Soundscapes Presents Great Women Composers: Lili and Nadia Boulanger

  • Wildflower Playhouse 1339 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur Taos, NM, 87571 United States (map)

Taos Soundscapes presents its annual Great Women Composers concert, this year featuring music of the sisters Lili and Nadia Boulanger and their circle in early 20th c. Paris. Lily was tragically ill and short-lived (1893-1918) but in that short time turned out multiple masterpieces of vocal and chamber music and was the first woman to win the Prix de Rome. Her older sister Nadia (1887-1979) was a famed organist, conductor, composer and professor at the American School at Fontainebleau, where she taught 300 some 20th c. American composers, from Aaron Copland to Quincy Jones. The concert will also feature refreshments and lots of opportunity to talk with the performers. All are welcome!

Please join us for this music filled with mesmerizing and exhilarating soundscapes, these women are geniuses at captivating and transporting performers and audience alike!
