The 1st Annual Agua y Azúcar Fiesta is a celebration of life here in Taos at the Wildflower Playhouse. The family friendly fiesta will feature art from local artists, a Bizcochito eating contest, a Dance Party, an Ofrenda for loved ones, a Marcha through the land, and a Piñata full of surprises. In the Wildflower’s theater, a performance will accompany the debut of Say Ella’s new album, “Respiro Marrón Montes”. The album is an amorphous electronic album, a document of coming of age in Taos. The Agua y Azúcar fiesta’s intention is to connect the community of Taos through multiple mediums of art and festive activities for all to enjoy.
The fiesta is produced by the Agua y Azúcar collective, a collective composed of individuals making art and sharing Northern New Mexico folklore. The fiesta is inspired by creative director David Silva’s experiences of growing up here in Taos, celebrating as a family for holidays, feast days and fiestas. David is a multidisciplinary artist working in film, music and theater with a focus on connecting audiences through the human condition.
Please join us on Saturday, October 14th at 6:30 PM for this wonderful new fiesta at the Wildflower Playhouse! Ticket prices are $20 for a Family, $10 for Adults, $5 for Kids. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
