Dancers in Landscape On View July 22nd- Sept 8th
Gallery Reception August 3rd
“Dancers in Landscape” is a photographic documentary of Pat Berrett’s 20+ year obsession with photographing female dancers in the strange and empty landscapes of New Mexico. Dancers from ballet to belly dancers, from modern to improvisational to flamenco and even aerial silk-hike into a sometimes- very-remote location and are asked to “choreograph a piece of the landscape.”
There is no music.
No audience.
No further direction.
Sometimes this instruction is met with a blank stare.
Sometimes the dancer simply eases into the landscape.
Often the result is beauty.
